He has hit the 8lb mark!
He was doing great, but Susan did find a little blood in his stool on January 27, 2009. So that was a trip to the ER at Home Hospital, they took a sample of his blood and didn't find anything. So they called St. Vincent's & scheduled a follow-up appointment with his surgeon for 02/02/2009. They did an x-ray & a few more tests and all they found was a small tear in his rectum wall. They said it would heal on it's own and to keep an eye on it. Then on Tuesday St. Vincent's called Susan for an update & decided that they needed to come back down.
So on Wednesday Susan took Gabe back down to St. Vincent's. They did a contrast study & they saw that his bowels were really dilated. So the surgeon admitted him to the Children's Hospital. He is labeled as NPO - which is no food/fluids by mouth. He will be on IVs for fluids and nutrition. Susan will be able to stay with him because there is a bed in his room for her to sleep on. The Dr's are just trying to figure out what is going on and why he has blood in his stools. They will be running tests an narrowing it down. If all that fails and still no solution then he will have to have an exploratory surgery on his bowels to find the problem.
We are praying for complete healing on his body & that there will be no surgery! God is good and has healed and preserved Gabe body many times, He will not stop now!
